INSPIRING WOMEN SERIESE

Meeting Nicole.
I get to meet so many people in my line of work, but every once in awhile there is someone that just stops you in your tracks and reminds you what really matters!
We all get caught up in this society with the ideology that beautiful is 'thin and young'. I've never believed that's the only truth! When I met Nicole, she and I just connected with those same values and we wanted to share and inspire women to value the same ideology.... and that is, that your body shape, your looks and the societal notions are not the only prime ideals. Beauty comes out when you BELIEVE you are beautiful. Truly... beauty radiates from within first.

It's believing in who you are, loving who you are - and OWNING IT with pride!
So How Did We Achieve These Looks?

1) ATTITUDE:
Nicole's powerfully confident attitude and willingness to let loose is where it all started. She didn't worry about how she was looking on camera. She simply had fun and enjoying being a 'model for the day' with me. She trusted me so she could let her "Inner Goddess" come out.
2) WARDROBE OPTIONS:
She wanted to look & feel sexy but there's nowhere to hide in lingerie and she had a few areas of concern. So, we used her veil (as this was her Bridal Boudoir shoot) and a fur wrap accessory to lightly cover up some areas she was conscience of. (It made her feel more comfortable and ultimately she felt more relaxed and able to open up).
3) POSING WAS KEY:
Creating Poses that flatter her body type in ways that show her beautiful feminine shapes and curves but didn't emphasize areas she had concerns with. I had her TWIST her body to emphasize the curves. ELONGATE her body in poses that created slimming lines. SCISSOR CROSS her legs at the knees to bring in a slimming effect of the lower body. SHIFT her weight to bring emphasis to one side of her body and let the other side of her body fall to the background.

5) CAMERA ANGLES:
The old fashion way of photographing people to look slimmer was to just shoot from a very high angle above one's head. But this gives people a big 'bobble head' look and then the rest of the body looks squattier and ill proportioned. I chose to photograph Nicole from a 'slightly' elevated angle above her eye line and also from a slightly side angle. This slims her out without distorting her proportions.

6) CAMERA LENS CHOICE:
If you know anything about focal lengths and lens distortion, you'll understand that choosing the right lens makes all the difference. I photographed her shots with a 70mm or with my 70-200mm lens.
